           For over eight years now, Gina and I have had the privilege of serving in ministry with Here’s Life Inner City Denver.   Although our time with HLIC has come to an end, we are confident that God is moving in a powerful way to build an even stronger “work for the Lord” in inner city Denver.

           The ministry of Here’s Life Inner City Denver has now come under the leadership of Scott and Wendy DeBruyne.  As he explains below, the ministry of Here’s Life Inner City is combining with Denver Student Venture to form what is now called “Denver Urban Student Venture”.  This is a move where both the ministry programs of HLIC and Student Venture will continue under one name.

           God’s sovereign hand has led us in undeniable ways during this transition of leadership.  Scott DeBruyne has been working closely with HLIC Denver for the last four years.  We know Scott well and we know that he is a Godly man of integrity.  Scott brings strong experience in the area of discipleship and he has vision to come alongside churches to assist them as they would engage with local schools in their neighborhoods.

           Gina and I are not going anywhere and plan to support and partner with Denver Urban Student Venture for years to come. We look forward, believing in faith, for the Lord to do even greater things through the ministry of Denver Urban Student Venture.

FROM THE NEW DIRECTOR

           My wife, Wendy and I have been blessed to serve as staff of Student Venture, the high school and junior high outreach of Campus Crusade for Christ for 19 years.

           It was about 4 months ago when Dave and I began to pray and meet together seeking God’s direction for the changes that were going to take place. I am excited to follow God’s lead.  We believe God has something special in store for us. 

           I believe our best days are ahead of us. As God brings HLIC and Student Venture together here in Denver, we are excited to continue everything God has started though us and believe Him for more urban youth to experience new life in Him. I want to encourage you to believe with us that God is doing something special: God is a mighty life changer who is working through us to reach lost and hurting urban youth with the Gospel.

           I want to say thank you to Dave and Gina for how they have led Here’s Life Inner City .  I know many lives have been blessed under their leadership. I am humbled to be part of what God is doing to reach Denver.
