Urban/Suburban Partnership

      We desire to see partnerships develop between suburban churches and some of our urban partner ministries. We believe that these partnerships are right at the heart of what God wants to see accomplished in His Body. Suburban churches or small groups can get engaged in urban youth ministry through volunteering, tutoring, life-skills training, spiritual mentoring, prayer, hosting urban youth at their church, financial partnership, and more…To request a brochure or for more information contact Dave Jones @ (303) 831-4542. 

Urban Youth Ministry 101 Tour

      For many people, our 101 Tour is the first step for getting engaged. These 4 hour tours of some of our partner ministries expose you to the reality of ministry in some of Denver’s highest risk neighborhoods. You will meet the men and women on the front lines of youth ministry in Denver. You will hear stories of changed lives and be able to ask questions. Most importantly, you will see and hear how you can get engaged in the lives of children and teens who desperately need someone to live out the love of Christ in their lives. Tours run monthly August-April. The cost is $10 and includes lunch.

Summer in the City Projects

      Each summer, Here’s Life Inner City Denver invites college students from around the country to join with local young adults in the Summer in the City Project. This project focuses on ministry skills and leadership development as approximately 20 young adults live in Christian community, engage in ongoing discipleship and training, and apply what they are learning at inner-city youth ministries throughout the city. Each participant is then challenged to consider committing one to two years of their lives to serving as an intern with one of these ministries.

      Here’s Life Inner City, in partnership with Strategic People Development, comes alongside partner ministries and helps them to clarify the mission, vision, and direction of their ministry. This focus maximizes the ministry’s effectiveness at reaching youth and creates an environment where staff and volunteers can feel fully engaged. 

Volunteer Ministry Development

      The impact of nearly all urban youth ministries rests heavily in the hands of volunteers. In partnership with Newell and Associates, Here’s Life Inner City provides training in how to effectively lead, manage, support, motivate, and retain volunteers in the ministry field. Volunteers are often the lifeblood of urban youth ministry, and therefore, training and ongoing assistance in the area of volunteer ministry development is of vital importance to the ministries that we partner with. 

Program Support

      Here’s Life Inner City provides a variety of programs and resources to support the ongoing efforts of urban youth workers. One of the most prominent and successful is the establishment of various S.A.Y. Yes! Centers throughout the city. The S.A.Y. Yes! curriculum, as well as ongoing coaching and resourcing, provides some structure and support for churches to run outstanding after school programs for children in their neighborhoods. Often, S.A.Y. Yes! impacts the entire family, through the children’s involvement at a center.
